Bike ride on the Green Avenue
Are you a fan of two-wheelers? Hop on your bike and explore the Avenue Verte, which connects Paris to London. The cycle path follows the route of an old railway line (over 45 kilometres), from Dieppe to Forges-les-Eaux via Neufchâtel-en-Bray. Ideal for discovering the natural and cultural heritage of the Pays Dieppe.
Take the time during the day to enjoy the Avenue Verte, which is 56 kilometres long. The route between Dieppe and Forge-les-Eaux bears the traces of its railway past. A day in the open air that will take you to the heart of the Pays de Bray, with some lovely Norman discoveries in between…
Our hotel La Tour aux Crabes, in Dieppe, is located near the starting point of the cycle path.
This first section to Saint-Vaast-d’Équiqueville gives a good overview of the Normandy landscape.
Pass charming lakes before branching off for a cultural break at the Château d’Arques-la-Bataille.
Situated on a rocky spur, the 11th-century château – now in ruins – overlooks the valley. You can also take a detour to the Saint-Nicolas d’Aliermont Watchmaking Museum.
Before a well-deserved lunch break at the Guy Weber Educational Nature Park. You can have a picnic there or enjoy the restaurant area.
After a few good pedal strokes, you will arrive 10 kilometres further on at Mesnières-en-Bray. This charming village is home to a Renaissance château and restaurants lining its narrow streets.
Change of scenery: a Normandy postcard will unfold before your eyes - apple orchards and grazing cows!
Take a well-deserved gourmet break to taste the famous heart-shaped cheese, Neufchâtel.
Once you arrive in Forges-les-Eaux, relax on the banks of the famous Andelle lake, nicknamed the bird mirror.
This day in the open air will surely have whetted your appetite. You can continue your journey between land and sea at the restaurant of our hotel La Tour aux Crabes, opposite the port of Dieppe.
